New policy plan in action: 2 project groups kick off the new academic year
On June 8th, FOSB approved the new policy plan of the FRDN. The policy plan contains the FRDN strategy for 2022-2023 and is the result of a participatory trajectory in the network. Now, we are looking for helping hands to make the aspirations of our network a reality. The Working Group Architecture will focus on ecosystems throughout the research data life cycle, and its first project group will tackle the operational goal about enriching metadata. This project group of experts will look at optimizing process flows of metadata in the diverse and complex landscape of (institutional) systems. An ecosystem with clear roles and rules about the process flows of research metadata will foster efficiency and improve the quality of the metadata. The project group will prioritize problems while keeping an eye on international ecosystems.
In the second Working Group RDM & OS, the operational goal on good practices for acknowledging Open Science elements in research assessment will start at the same time in the form of another project group of experts. Its members will search for good examples that can induce a mental shift in the research community whereby Open Science will be better acknowledged by the wider research community. Although the group will take up a specific focus on acknowledging sharing and reuse of research data, it will take up a broader perspective on Open Science as well.
If you would like to join one of these new project groups, keep an eye on our new website! In the upcoming weeks, the calls for the new project groups will be published with more details and instructions on how to apply. Make sure to free some time during the holidays, as applications close the 5th of September.
