De Flemish Open Science Board (FOSB) en het Flemish Research Data Network (FRDN) hebben sinds hun ontstaan in 2019/2020 een significante impuls gegeven aan Open Science in Vlaanderen. Sinds de goedkeuring van het nieuwe beleidsplan in 2022 zijn de strategische doelen aangescherpt. Eén van de vier strategische doelen focust op het creëren van een correct ecosysteem doorheen de cyclus van research data. Binnen dit strategisch richten we ons op de verdere ontwikkeling van matchmaking tools om de samenwerking tussen Vlaamse onderzoeksinstellingen rond data infrastructuur en diensten te bevorderen.

Met als belangrijkste resultaten:

-          Een formaat voor een Webinar reeks

• Die inzicht geeft in data-infrastructuurcomponenten en -diensten
• Waar doelstellingen en doelgroep duidelijk bepaald zijn
• Die verkent naar mogelijke samenwerkingen

 

-          Sjabloon voor FRDN-dienstencatalogus

• Die dient als registratie en weergave van de webinars
• Die afgestemd is op de Europese ontwikkelingen
• Die nuttig is voor de FRDN-leden

 

-          Verspreiding van Webinar reeks en dienstencatalogus

• Die de communicatie-uitdagingen in verband met de diversiteit van het doelpubliek strategisch aanpakt.
• Die het publiek effectief weet te bereiken.

 

De OG-projectgroep moet vertegenwoordigers van de Knowledge hub voor data stewards omvatten.

Ben jij de persoon die we zoeken?

Projectgroepen worden samengesteld op basis van expertise. De projectgroep rapporteert aan de werkgroep Architectuur, die een representatieve functie heeft, en waar dus de standpunten van de instellingen vertegenwoordigd worden. Idealiter bevat deze projectgroep een representatie van verschillende expertises:

 

- Technische expertise:

• Kennis van de huidige/nodige infrastructuren/architectuur bij de onderzoeksinstellingen
• Financieel inzicht in de kost van data infrastructuur
• Gebruik kunnen maken van de data life cycle raamwerk van de werkgroep Architectuur

 

- Ecosysteem expertise

• Open Science expert op EU-niveau met een helikopterview op bestaande repositories en hoe die werken.
• Kennis van het bredere landschap van open data, zowel mensen als systemen

 

- Diensten Cataloog expertise

• Ervaring met het opstellen van service omschrijvingen
• Ervaring in het maken van webinars, inclusief opnemen en dissemineren

 

- Communicatie & Organisatie expertise

• Samenwerkingen tussen kennisinstellingen mogelijk kunnen maken
• Bepalen van communicatiedoelstellingen en doelgroepen

 

Heb jij expertise in één van deze domeinen? Aarzel dan niet om in de projectgroep te stappen.

Om de tijdsbesteding redelijk te houden, wordt ernaar gestreefd om overlappende profielen in te zetten voor de werkgroep, zodat leden als elkaars back-up kunnen functioneren. Bovendien staat de projectgroep er niet alleen voor. Waar nodig, zal de projectgroep bijgestaan worden door hun voorzitter en de Coordination Hub en zal er coaching voor groepsfacilitatie technieken en projectmatig werken voorzien worden.

Je kan expertise delen in een breder netwerk zodat je deze kennis ook kan meenemen naar je eigen werkplek. Je neemt een prominente rol in om het netwerk vooruit te brengen. Je werk zal bijdragen aan een groter draagvlak voor Open Science bij onderzoekers, en zal alzo de Open Science KPI’s positief beïnvloeden.

Er zal een (co-)voorzitter aangesteld worden voor deze projectgroep. Denk alvast even na of je hier interesse voor hebt, en vermeld dit desgevallend in je kandidatuur.(co-)Voorzitters worden gecoacht door de Coordination Hub en een consultant. We hopen zo snel mogelijk het coaching traject te kunnen starten, zodat (co-)voorzitters kunnen groeien in hun rol.

We vragen je ook om de CPOC van je eigen kennisinstelling in cc te zetten, zodat deze ook op de hoogte is. The Flemish Open Science Board (FOSB) and the Flemish Research Data Network (FRDN) have provided significant momentum for Open Science in Flanders since their inception in 2019/2020. Since the adoption of the new policy plan in 2022, the strategic goals have been sharpened. One of the four strategic goals focuses on creating a correct ecosystem through the cycle of research data. Within this strategic we focus on the further development of matchmaking tools to promote collaboration between Flemish research institutions around data infrastructure and services.

Key outcomes include:

- A format for a Webinar series

• providing insight into data infrastructure components and services
• with clear objectives and target audience exploring possible collaborations

- Template for FRDN services catalog

• serving as a registration tool and providing an overview of the webinars
• align with European developments
• serving the goals of FRDN members

 

- Dissemination of Webinar series and services catalogs

• strategically addressing the communication challenges related to the diversity of the target audience
• with effective outreach to the audience

 

The OG project group should include representatives from the Knowledge hub for data stewards.

 

Are you the person we are looking for?

Project groups members contribute on the basis of their expertise (in some aspects) on the topic of the project group. The project group reports to the Architecture working wroup, which has a representative function. Thus it is the working group that represents the views of the institutions while the project group contains a representation of different areas of expertise.

- Technical expertise in 

• Identifying  infrastructure needs or current systems in place at the research institutions.
• Understanding of financial aspects of (costs and /or profits) of data infrastructure
• Ability to use the data life cycle framework of the working group Architecture

 

- Ecosystem expertise in

• Open Science expert at EU level with a helicopter view on existing repositories and how they work.
• The broader landscape of open data, both people and systems

 

- Services Catalog expertise in 

• Providing data infrastructure service specifications 
• Organizing  webinars, including recording and dissemination

- Communication & Organization expertise

• Enable collaborations between knowledge institutions
• Defining communication objectives and target audiences

 

Do you have expertise in any of these areas? Then don't hesitate to join the project group.

To keep the time commitment reasonable, we strive to use overlapping profiles for the working group so that members can function as each other's backup. Moreover, the project group is not alone. Where necessary, the project group will be assisted by their chairperson and the Coordination Hub. Finally the chairperson will be coached in project management and group dynamics.

You can share expertise in a wider network so that you can also take this knowledge to your own workplace. You will take a prominent role in moving the network forward. Your work will contribute to a larger support base for Open Science among researchers, thus positively influencing the Open Science KPIs.

 A (co-)chairman will be appointed for this project group. Think about whether you are interested in being the chairman  and, if so, mention it in your application. (Co-)chairmen will be coached in their task by the coordination hub and by a consultant. We would like to start the coaching as soon as possible, this way chairmen can grow in their role.
